Code of conduct

The short version

Polaris Blockchain Week is a professional event for a mixed, international audience. Treat everyone — attendees, speakers, staff, volunteers and venue crew — with respect. Harassment of any kind is not tolerated, at the Summit, at side events, in the networking app, or in any channel connected to the week.

What we expect

• Be considerate and constructive, especially in disagreement. Debate the argument, not the person.
• Respect people's boundaries: personal space, pronouns, and the right to decline a conversation, a photo or a business card.
• Keep pitches proportionate. Networking is welcome; cornering people is not.
• Follow the venue's safety instructions.

What is not acceptable

• Harassment, intimidation or discrimination based on gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, race, ethnicity, nationality, age, religion or any other characteristic.
• Unwelcome sexual attention, comments or imagery, including in talks, slides and demo material.
• Deliberate disruption of sessions, stalking, unwanted photography or recording of individuals.
• Threats or incitement of violence, and abuse of anyone reporting an incident.

Reporting an incident

If something happens to you or you see it happen to someone else, tell us. You can:

• Speak to any staff member — they wear orange lanyards marked CREW.
• Go to the registration desk in the main foyer.
• Email conduct@example.org, monitored throughout the week.
• Call the on-site safety line printed on the back of your badge.

Reports are handled discreetly by a small trained team. We will listen, we will not ask you to confront anyone, and we will not share your name without your agreement unless we are legally required to.

What happens next

Depending on what happened, we may issue a warning, ask someone to leave a session, revoke a badge without refund, remove a partner's stand, or involve the venue or the police. In an emergency, call 112 first.

Scope

This code applies to everyone at every part of the week, including official side events, evening receptions, the closing party and all online spaces we run. Partners, exhibitors and speakers are bound by it as a condition of taking part.
