1. Who we are

Polaris Blockchain Week (“we”, “us”) organises the event described on this site. For questions about this policy or about the personal data we hold, write to privacy@example.org.

2. What we collect

We collect only what we need to run the event and keep you informed:

• Ticket and registration data — name, email address, company, job title, billing details and any dietary or accessibility requirements you choose to share.
• Newsletter data — your email address and whether you opened or clicked a message.
• On-site data — badge scans you consent to, and photographs or video recorded in public areas of the venue.
• Website data — pages visited, approximate region and device type, collected in aggregate.

3. Why we use it

• To sell you a ticket, issue an invoice and admit you to the venue — necessary to perform our contract with you.
• To send practical event information such as schedule changes — our legitimate interest in running the event.
• To send marketing about future editions — only with your consent, withdrawable in one click from any message.
• To meet accounting and tax obligations — a legal requirement.

4. Who sees it

We share personal data with the service providers who make the event possible: our ticketing platform, payment processor, email provider, badge printer and the venue. They act on our instructions and may not use your data for their own purposes.

Partners and sponsors receive your details only if you opt in — for example by letting a partner scan your badge. We never sell personal data.

5. How long we keep it

Registration records are kept for seven years where invoicing rules require it. Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe. Aggregated website statistics are kept for 26 months.

6. Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, or receive it in a portable format. Email privacy@example.org and we will respond within one month. You may also complain to your national data protection authority.

7. Cookies

This site sets no advertising or tracking cookies. Any analytics we run are aggregated and cannot identify you individually. Where we later add a service that does set cookies, we will ask for your consent first.

8. Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page and, for material changes, tell ticket holders by email.
